1. Annual Gala on June 2, 2012 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm at the Main Library at 303 N Laura St.  The theme of the gala is celebrating entrepreneurship.  It will be an evening of great entertainment, dazzling performances, awards, dinner and more.  Register now. 
   
   
2. Mayor Alvin Brown announced on Feb 29, 2012 the launch of Mayor Brown’s College Student Aid Workshops, a public-private partnership with the Indo-US Chamber of Commerce of NE-FL to assist aspiring college students in completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at no cost to students or taxpayers.  Jacksonville families and college bound students are encouraged to register for one of seven sessions on Saturdays between March 31 and May 19, 2012.  These sessions are at no cost to students or taxpayers.

1. Second annual CIO/CTO summit on April 26, 2012 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm.  Theme of the summit is 10-year Vision for Corporate IT.  Topics of discussion include: What is the next wave after social network/media? How will mobile/tablets change IT? What will be the impact of privacy & security issues on IT? What will be the challenges and opportunities with ever-increasing consumer data? Jacksonville Entrepreneurship and Small Business Summit with B2B Match Making Event - 2/21/2012 from 8:30 A.M. to 5 P.M.  Excellent opportunity to a) Understand "White house initiative on Asian American Pacific Islanders" and "Startup America initiatives"--White house executives will address three topics, Healthcare Information Technology, Exports and Resources from Startup America partnership; b) showcase your products and services, and talk one-on-one with large and small companies in order to enable commerce.  Schedule appointments with procurement agencies now.
   
3. Filled to Capacity. Registration Closed.  Jacksonville Startup Weekend on January 20, 21 and 22, 2012 at UNF Student Union.  Startup Weekend is an intense 54 hour event which focuses on building a web or mobile application which could form the basis of a credible business over the course of a weekend.  Pre-event kickoff meeting will be held on Jan 7 from 4.30 to 6pm at the South East Regional Library, 10599 Deerwood Park Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32256.  Please attend to understand the process and prepare for the event.
